Prepare yourself for the most fun possible before your trip by reading these frequently asked questions

  • Is wakesurfing family friendly?

    Yes, absolutely! It is low impact and high energy. With rear facing seats, the entire family can watch the rider in action on the boat!

  • When should we arrive?

    Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled time to allow for boarding and safety briefing.

  • Where will we go wakesurfing?

    We will go to one of our secret spots. Your trip location will be determined by the weather conditions for the day of your trip. We will go to one of our secret spots close to Destin or Fort Walton Beach.

  • What is the cost?

    $300 per hour with a 2 hour minimum.

  • What should we bring with us the day of our trip?

    Come with a great attitude and ready to have an amazing day! Bring with you towels, sunscreen (please no spray, cream sunscreen only), snacks, drinks, a swimsuit, your favorite playlist to blast while you surf, and appropriate dry clothing based on the weather forecast.

  • What not to bring?

    Red wine, chocolate, pets and bad attitudes should be left at home.

  • Is wakesurfing safe?

    It is one of the safest water sports. Wakesurfing is performed at only 10mph.

  • Does it hurt to fall?

    It’s very unlikely that it will hurt. Falling feels more consistent to the feeling of jumping into a pool.

  • What is provided during our wakesurfing trip?

    We will provide water, ice, wakesurf boards, coast guard approved life vests, instruction and tons of fun! We guarantee memories will be made!

  • Do you take groups out to Crab Island?

    Yes, we would be happy to take you if that is something you would like to do.

  • Is food provided?

    We do not provide food on our excursions, but you are welcome to bring your own. There are also numerous restaurants and marinas along the water so if you want to grub up, let’s grub up!

  • Can we wakesurf in the Gulf?

    Not usually, wakesurfing in the Gulf is difficult and the conditions are very rarely conducive.

  • What is the recommended minimum age to surf?

    We typically recommend children be age 9 years and up to wakesurf, however younger kids have been able to do it.

  • Can we extend our time?

    This is one of our most commonly asked questions and the answer is possibly. It depends on the schedule that day and whether there are other trips booked. The rate to extend is $300 per hour.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    72 hours

  • What if the weather is bad on the day of our reservation?

    It is our policy to only surf in safe weather. Destin Wakesurf closely monitors the weather. If we (Destin Wakesurf) determine it is unsafe to Wakesurf, we offer 100% refund or the option to rebook.

  • What is the maximum number of people we can bring on the boat with our group?

    We might be able to make arrangements to carry up to 6 passengers.

  • Are there any weight restrictions?

    There are no weight restrictions.

  • What kind of boat it is provided for our trip?

    At 26’ in length the Mastercraft x26 is yacht certified and can carry up to 18 people. However, because of USCG rules for captains, we usually carry 6 and never more than 12. Regardless, there is plenty of room either way.

  • Does the boat have a bathroom onboard?

    Yes, it does!

  • Are dogs welcome?

    Dogs are NOT allowed

  • Is Gratiuity Included?

    Customary gratuity is 20% for the captain to share with his crew. Gratuity is not included in the price.
